A work trip to Bristol had us looking for somewhere comfortable, quiet, and close enough to the action that we wouldn't need to think twice about getting around. Hampton by Hilton Bristol City Centre ticked those boxes from the moment we arrived. Only in town for one night, we didn't need much — just a reliable place to rest before an early start — and this hotel delivered exactly that.
The property feels recently refurbished, with a crisp, contemporary look throughout, and despite its central location it was noticeably quiet. Here's how our stay went, room by room.
Room Experience: Comfort and Quiet
The room was clean and comfortable, with everything set up for a straightforward, no-fuss stay. It was quiet enough that we had no trouble settling in, even with the city right outside the door, and we came away with a genuinely good night's sleep — exactly what we needed before a full day of work.
The refurbished feel came through here too; the room felt fresh rather than dated, which isn't always a given with a quick one-night stop.

Fitness Facilities: Small But Functional
The gym was on the smaller side, as you'd expect from a hotel in this category, but it was well kept and had enough kit to get a quick workout in before heading out for the day. Nothing elaborate, but nice, and it did the job.

Dining Experience: Breakfast at the Hotel
Breakfast was typical Hampton by Hilton fare — the usual reliable spread rather than anything to write home about, but perfectly fine to set us up for the day. Nothing unexpected here, in a good way: consistent and exactly what you'd expect from the brand.
Location & Parking: Central, With One Catch
This is where the hotel really stands out. It's right in Bristol's city centre, making it an easy, walkable base for a work trip with little time to spare. Everything we needed was close by, and getting to meetings was hassle-free.
The one downside — and it's not really the hotel's fault — is parking. The hotel doesn't have its own car park, and while there's an NCP right by the hotel, underground and extremely convenient, it's also extremely expensive: somewhere around £25 for the night, from what we recall, with no discount available through the hotel. If you're driving in, it's worth budgeting for or looking at alternatives a short walk further out.
Overall, Hampton by Hilton Bristol City Centre delivered exactly what we needed for a one-night work trip: a clean, comfortable, quiet room, a solid night's sleep, a handy little gym, and a breakfast that did its job. The location is hard to beat if you want to be right in the middle of the city.
Parking is the only real sticking point, and it's more a Bristol city-centre problem than a hotel one. For the right price, we'd happily stay here again.
