I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre during a recent work trip — a quick visit, but enough to get a good feel for the hotel. As with most DoubleTree properties, the experience was straightforward and reliable: clean rooms, decent facilities, and a location that works well if you need easy access to the city centre.
This wasn’t a luxury stay or a long getaway — just a functional base for work — and the hotel delivered exactly what I needed without any fuss.
Easy access to the city, with a few traffic considerations
The hotel sits just outside Bristol’s main city centre area. Once you’re in, you have plenty of food, shops, and evening options within walking distance. Driving in and out can be a little slow during peak times, but that’s typical for Bristol and nothing too disruptive.
I travelled by car, so I didn’t use public transport — can’t comment on nearby bus or train links — but for drivers, the setup is easy. Parking is available on-site at £18 per night, which is fairly standard for a UK city hotel. The presence of EV chargers was a welcome bonus.
Clean, comfortable, and exactly what you expect from DoubleTree
The room was a typical Hilton-standard setup — clean, tidy, and comfortable. Nothing flashy, nothing disappointing. For a short work stay, it did exactly what it needed to do: quiet enough, good bed, decent workspace, and everything in working order.
No complaints here — it’s the kind of room you settle into easily and forget about because it just works.

Spacious layout gym, limited machines
The gym surprised me by being quite spacious, but the equipment selection was limited. If you’re a treadmill runner like me, timing matters — there are only two treadmills, so during busy periods you might have to wait.
Outside of that, the space was clean, bright, and pleasant to use. For early‑morning workouts, it was perfectly fine.

Reasonably good breakfast, pricey dinner options
I had breakfast at the hotel, and it was reasonably good — nothing extraordinary, but enough variety and quality to start the day well.
For dinner, I skipped the hotel restaurant. The menu felt a bit pricey, and with so many food options nearby in the city centre, it made more sense to grab something from shops or takeaway instead.
DoubleTree Bristol City Centre is a perfectly fine hotel for a short stay — especially for work. There’s nothing wrong with it, but nothing particularly outstanding either.
If you get it at the right price, and the location works for your plans, it’s a solid and dependable option. Clean rooms, decent breakfast, EV charging, and easy access to the city centre make it a practical choice for business travellers.
