During a recent trip to London, we had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton London Olympia for a one-night visit. The highlight of our trip was attending David Gilmour’s unforgettable concert at the Royal Albert Hall, and this hotel proved to be a convenient choice. Located in the heart of Kensington, it offered easy access to both the venue and nearby attractions, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Though our stay was brief, the overall experience was enjoyable. The hotel’s welcoming atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and attentive service made it easy to unwind after an exciting evening. Whether you’re in town for an event or a weekend getaway, Hilton London Olympia provides a great combination of comfort and convenience.
The Room: Comfortable and Functional with Deluxe Touches
Our deluxe room at the Hilton London Olympia was a pleasant size, offering enough space to move around without feeling cramped — something that can be hit or miss with city hotels. In true Hilton fashion, the room was comfortable and functional, though not overly luxurious. It provided all the essentials you’d expect for a good night’s stay, with the added bonus of a few deluxe touches. These included soft bathrobes, cozy slippers, and upgraded toiletries that gave the room a bit of an elevated feel, making our stay a touch more special.
However, the view from the room was fairly average—looking out onto surrounding buildings rather than any notable landmarks. It was serviceable, but nothing to write home about. The only downside was a somewhat odd smell that lingered during our stay. We couldn’t quite determine if it was coming from the air conditioning system or the room itself, but it was noticeable enough to be slightly off-putting. That aside, the room provided a comfortable and restful space after a busy day in London.

Location: Conveniently Situated Near Iconic London Attractions
The location of the Hilton London Olympia proved to be incredibly convenient for our trip. I was delighted to discover that it was just a 30-minute walk to the Royal Albert Hall, allowing us to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the city on a Friday night. The walk was pleasant, with bustling streets and lively crowds, which made me feel secure and engaged as we made our way to the concert. It was a lovely way to kick off our evening, enjoying the sights and sounds of London.
One downside, however, was the expensive parking. While I was fortunate enough to snag a spot in the hotel’s underground garage, I quickly realized how small and tight the space was. Maneuvering in and out of the parking area was a bit challenging, so it might not be the best option for larger vehicles. Despite this, the convenience of having parking on-site was a definite plus, allowing us to explore the city without worrying about finding a spot elsewhere. Overall, the hotel’s location offered a perfect balance of accessibility and security for our stay.
Dining: A Satisfying Start to the Day
While I didn’t have dinner at the Hilton London Olympia, I did enjoy a satisfying breakfast during my stay. The buffet-style breakfast was typical of what you’d expect at a Hilton, offering a wide range of options to kickstart the day. From fresh pastries and fruits to hot dishes like eggs and bacon, there was something for everyone. I truly felt that nothing was missing from the spread, making it a delightful way to fuel up before a day of exploring.
One aspect I noted was that breakfast hours felt a bit short for a Saturday morning, running only until 10 AM. An extension would have been nice, allowing guests a little more flexibility to sleep in and enjoy a leisurely meal. While I didn’t have the opportunity to try out the hotel’s bar, I did catch a glimpse of it on my way to breakfast. It looked inviting and well-stocked, which made me wish I could have enjoyed a drink or two in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, the dining experience at the Hilton London Olympia set a positive tone for our day.

Fitness: A Quiet Space for Your Workout
The gym at the Hilton London Olympia may be relatively small, but it provided a surprisingly pleasant workout experience. During my visit, it wasn’t busy at all, which allowed me to enjoy my workout without any interruptions or waiting for equipment. The quiet atmosphere made it easy to focus on my routine and get the most out of my time there.
Despite its compact size, the gym was well-equipped with essential machines and weights, making it suitable for a solid workout. Whether you’re looking for cardio options or strength training, it had everything I needed to maintain my fitness routine while traveling. Overall, the gym was a convenient and efficient space that contributed positively to my stay.

Overall, my experience at the Hilton London Olympia was quite positive. The hotel’s convenient location made it easy to explore the surrounding area, and I truly appreciated the room upgrade, which was a nice perk of being a Gold member. It added a touch of luxury to our stay, and the comfortable accommodations made it easy to relax after a busy day. The breakfast was also a highlight, offering a satisfying start to the day with a variety of delicious options that catered to different tastes.
However, there were a couple of downsides that are worth mentioning. The awkward smell in the room was a bit off-putting, and the £37 parking fee felt steep, especially for a one-night stay. Despite these minor inconveniences, I found that the overall experience outweighed the negatives. The combination of comfort, amenities, and a great location makes the Hilton London Olympia a solid choice for anyone visiting the city. If I could secure the right price on my next visit, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again for another memorable trip to London.
