For a quick London trip where central hotels were looking a bit steep price-wise, I decided to stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Luton. I wasn’t flying out anywhere — just visiting London for a gig — and this hotel offered a smart balance between cost and convenience. It’s right next to Luton Airport Parkway station, so I drove up, left the car, and caught the Thameslink into the city.
It was my first time staying here, and it lived up to the Hilton name — clean, efficient, and friendly staff. I didn’t feel like I was compromising much compared to staying in central London, and there were a few nice perks thrown in too.
Upgraded Comfort and Classic Hampton Convenience
At check-in, I was pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary room upgrade. The room had everything I needed — clean, tidy, and functional, with a comfy bed and a solid workspace if I’d needed it.
While it’s a classic Hampton setup, it didn’t feel lacking. I was also offered a late checkout, which was a nice touch and gave me time to take things easy the next morning.

Next to the Station and Well Connected to Central London
Location-wise, this hotel is ideal if you’re travelling via public transport. Being just a few steps from Luton Airport Parkway station means you can be at St Pancras in around 30 minutes on the Thameslink. I used that route to get to and from the Olympic Stadium for an event.
If I’m honest, coming back late at night did feel like a bit of a trek — not exhausting, just a bit long after a full day out. But overall, still manageable and worth it for the savings and flexibility.

Compact Gym, Hassle-Free Breakfast, and a Flexible Stay
The gym was small but perfectly usable — I managed a short session and had it all to myself. Breakfast was included in the stay, and it was your typical Hampton buffet setup: decent variety, nothing fancy, but it did the job.
Staff were friendly and efficient, and everything ran smoothly from check-in to check-out. Overall, it felt like a very streamlined, no-fuss experience.

If you’re happy to be based a little further out, Hampton by Hilton Luton Airport is a solid option. You get Hilton comfort and service without the central London price tag, and the train access makes it a viable base for quick visits.
It might not have the excitement of a central London location, but if you’re after convenience and value — especially for an overnight or short stay — this one’s worth considering. I’d definitely use it again when London prices spike or for an early train connection.
