Privacy & cookies

The short version: we collect as little as we can, never sell it and never use it for ads.

Last updated 1 November 2026

The only optional cookies on Just Go are for Google Analytics, which help us see how many people visit and which trips they read. They're off unless you allow them, and you can change your mind at any time here.

You haven't chosen yet, so analytics cookies are off.

Who we are

Just Go (just-go.co.uk) is our family travel blog. We're responsible for the personal information described here. For anything about your data, email us at info@just-go.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Reading the blog

You can read everything without giving us anything. We count how many times each post is viewed, but that count isn't linked to you. If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records which pages you visit, roughly where you are (country or city) and the kind of device you use. We only see this as totals and trends, and we've turned off Google's advertising features.

Comments

When you comment we keep the name you give, your comment and the date, and show them publicly with the post once we've approved them. To stop spam we also keep a scrambled code made from your internet address (not the address itself), which only tells us whether lots of comments came from the same place. We don't ask for your email. Comments stay up as long as the post does; ask us and we'll remove yours.

Newsletter

If you subscribe we keep your email address and when you signed up, and use it only to send you the Just Go newsletter. To unsubscribe, email us and we'll delete it.

Contact form

Messages you send through our contact page (your name, email and message) are delivered to our inbox by EmailJS. We use them only to reply to you, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Cookies and browser storage

Besides the optional analytics cookies, the site keeps a few things in your browser that it needs to work. These don't track you and aren't shared with anyone.

WhatWhyHow long

Who else handles your data

  • Microsoft Azure hosts the site and stores comments and newsletter sign-ups, in the UK and Europe.
  • EmailJS delivers contact form messages and lets us know about new comments.
  • Google provides Google Analytics, only if you allow it. Google may process this data in the USA under its own safeguards.

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.

Our reasons for using it

We use analytics cookies and send the newsletter only with your consent. We handle comments and messages because you've asked us to publish or reply to them, and because keeping the site free of spam is in everyone's interest.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Just email info@just-go.co.uk and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
